Round 2 (Match #8) Morgan Freeman vs Robert Duvall

This is by the far the hardest one to call in the second round. Both very experienced and both great actors. Morgan has always shined in supporting roles and so has Duvall. However Duvall showed he could carry a film by himself when he made The Apostle. Morgan Freeman has been nominated for an Oscar four times, winning once with Million Dollar Baby. He usually plays the laid-back and wise characters that everyone respects. He has one of the most recognizable voices in Hollywood. Robert Duvall has six Oscar nominations, winning one time. So who is the better actor?? To vote just leave a comment. Here are some of their best scenes.

Morgan Freeman

Robert Duvall

They are both really good actors, both are serious, and they have senses of humor. Tough choice, I can’t pick the better actor here sorry.

    =P

This one’s really hard to call. But somehow I’m going with Morgan Freeman, just like I’m going with Obama. LOL

  3. Lime & Tequila Says:

This is so unfair! I love both of these men. I want to say I can’t pick. Both are superb, genuine actors.

I’ll give the nod to Robert Duvall, but I don’t feel happy about my decision.

    Okay, okay.

Morgan has some great roles, but he hasn’t been given the diverse roles that Robert has to date, Robert has been acting professionally in box office movies longer and has had a broader aray of roles, therefore Duvall simply has more notable roles. I mean either one of them could have played the crazy general in “Dreamcatcher” for instance.

They both leave lasting impressions on me.

All said and done, I have to say Robert Duvall is my pick, but I don’t particularly feel happy about my decision either because I like Morgan Freeman’s personality better.
