Juno was a pleasant surprise. Ellen Page who I thought was annoying in the previews was actually cute and very quirky. The characters are what drive the film. Great acting from Jennifer Garner (never thought I would say that) and Jason Bateman. Her parents are a little cartoonish but it works, especially Allison Janney. If you are looking for a laugh out loud comedy this movie is not for you. The film is surprisingly deep and does a great job of dealing with abortion without sounding preachy. If you go to a yahoo poll of who should win BEST PICTURE of the year at the Oscars, Juno go the majority of the votes. I guess America is for a feel good film rather then films that don’t lift your spirits up.
