I am Legend

I’m not a fan of zombie movies. Never was and never will be but i enjoyed this flick. Maybe cause Big Willie styles was all up in it, or maybe cause this zombie movie had a story. This movie isn’t great but i’m going to give it a thumbs up.
I’ve always liked the story line of being the last man on earth. The fear and loneliness. At least Will Smith had a dog as a companion. Tom Hanks had a volleyball. Something very creepy about New York City all quiet. You saw this in Vanilla Sky a few years ago too.
The movie start off really cool. Sets the tone of the movie in the first 10 mins, which is always a good thing. They cut in the back story really well. We start caring for Will’s character and feel sorry for him.
If you’ve seen the trailers, you’ve pretty much know the whole movie. He’s all alone and there are zombies. But Will’s acting makes you want to continue watching. I had two problems with the film. One, zombies. Two, the ending.
Spoiler Alert.
Will dies, obviously u know that cause of the title. Can’t have a Legend without some heroic death. I don’t have a problem with death. I like when the main character dies, but it just didn’t work in this movie. I left the theater thinking, why didn’t he try to get in the bomb shelter and wait till morning. He could have saved everybody and lived. Maybe he’s clautrophobic? The heroic ending seemed like a heroic ending. Very forced.
Still, Thumbs up.
